XML Prague 2014, February 14-16
In the middle of the silly season, it is a good time to announce parameters of XML Prague 2014
The questionnaire results suggest we should not make too many changes.
The duration of three days seems to be a good choice, as well as weekend days.
Participants want to see a mixture of of regular talks and workshops. We will try to meet these expectations and to introduce real workshops. This is a new ground and it remains to be seen what the offer will be.
Opinions are less clear about a variety of topics versus strictly thematic blocks, but the majority still seems to prefer the current looser structure.
We were very interested in the answer to the question what month would be the best for the conference. While participants named all possible months there are two clearly preferred ones – February and March. And this is where our wishes meet the real word limitations. Lecture rooms at University of Economics are not available in March. We need to stay in February, unless we want to look for other than academical venue. We have chosen the latest weekend before the school year starts; XML Prague 2014 will take place on February 14-16.
