Code Jam and Demo Jam at Schematron Users Meetup 2024
The Schematron Users Meetup at XML Prague is always one of the most popular un-conference sessions. We are pleased that it is back again this year, but it needs your help to make it a real success.
Do you have something Schematron-related that you would like to say? A bunch of Schematron fans in a Schematron meetup is one of the friendliest audiences you could hope to have. You might think that what you do with Schematron is somehow not ‘good enough’ to talk about, but we would like to hear from all comers, not just the usual suspects that we have to coerce to give talks to fill the time available.
A prerecorded talk is okay if you can’t be there in person, though it would be best if you are available online afterwards for any Q&A.
This year, for the first time, we are adding code jam and demo jam segments. You possibly already know how the demo jam works: you’ll have five minutes to demonstrate any aspect of how you use Schematron.
The code jam is for finding solutions, not demonstrating solutions. Anyone who would like the help of the world’s largest concentration of Schematron enthusiasts will have two minutes to present an overview of their problem. When the problems have been presented, the meetup will then break into groups with a small number of people per problem.
The problem presenter can provide more detail to their group if needed. Each group will work on solving their problem before coming back and reporting on progress as the last part of the segment. Even if you think that you can’t usefully contribute to a solution, you can still be part of a group as you might learn something by participating, and you might surprise yourself by being able to contribute to the solution.
If you want to give a short talk, let us know as soon as possible. If you have something for the demo jam or code jam, it would help our planning if you can tell us in advance, but it’s okay to turn up with something on the day.
